How a doctor builds a presence patients ask for by name
In many specialties, patients choose the doctor before the facility. Your online presence is the first meeting.
In many specialties, the patient looks for the doctor before the place. They ask relatives, search the name and watch what the doctor publishes. A doctor whose information is clear and whose content is useful earns trust before the first visit.
Start with the basics
- A clear Google Maps profile with your name, specialty and place of work.
- A personal page explaining your specialty, experience, the conditions you treat and how to book.
- Up-to-date listings in the well-known doctor directories in your country.
- A booking or direct WhatsApp link on every account.
Content that answers patients' questions
The easiest way to choose content: ask your reception team which questions they hear every day. Each one makes a short video or post. For example: "Does laser hurt?" or "When do I need an MRI?"
Simple content rules:
- Open the video with the direct answer in the first seconds.
- Speak the patient's language, and explain any term you need.
- One video, one idea.
- End with a clear step: when the patient should come and see you.
Publish regularly
Two posts a week for a year build a stronger presence than twenty posts in one month followed by silence. Plan three months ahead, and film several videos in one session.
Reputation is part of the brand
Reply to reviews, positive and negative, calmly and without revealing any medical information about the patient. Ask satisfied patients for a review after the visit with a short message and a direct link.
Mind compliance
A doctor is responsible for what is published in their name. Avoid promising results, get written consent before sharing any case, and use your title exactly as licensed.
In practice
List the ten questions you hear most from patients and record a short answer to each. That is the start of a presence that lets patients know you before they meet you.
